About the Noogies Documentary
When life seems to be nothing but work and no fun, one athletic league dares to break the boundary. In the small town of East Hanover, NJ there is a men’s 21 or older softball league. Sure there are teams all across the nation where men are trying to capture there youth, but their isn’t another team like this one, The Noogies. This team consists of new and old friends who come together every Tuesday and Thursday night in the spring, with hopes of becoming champions. They have had many unique players among them: two state champions, an over positive captain, a loud mouth pitcher, outfielders who run into each other and two guys named Floyd. Unfortunately, the team is in its infant stage only being together for three years, and still hasn’t had a winning season. The only thing they seemed to accomplish in past three seasons was showing up. If only their friendships, comedic antics and past athletic abilities were enough, they would have a winning season every year. But surprisingly, their loosing has nothing to do with the team’s ability to play. Other teams even commented how good this team is, but no one can explain why they didn’t win. A spark is needed within this organization in order for them to achieve their ultimate goal, to be champions.

Praying to the softball gods wasn’t enough for this team of zeros to become heroes. This is where the magic of making a documentary comes to the rescue. In order to save this team we had to go back to the roots of softball to get them help! Lets face it, softball was meant to be a woman’s sport. They are the ones who ultimately understand the finer techniques of this game. Therefore, a female coach, named Alison, has come in and will attempt to teach the Noogies how to truly play softball. If a past star of the sport can come in and help these guys in preseason and then be there during the season, it may just give them the spark they need. Another aspect the Noogies needed to bring to their game is support. No one likes playing in front of empty bleachers. The residents of East Hanover don’t even know that this league exists. So, the Noogies need to pull together and figure out how to rally this small town around them. The only question left is, after adding the two elements of guidance and support, will it be enough to make them champions?
